To realize the aim of cultivating innovative talents with excellent experimental and problem-solving skills, Experimental Teaching Center of Materials Science and Engineering becomes the most well-appointed and sophisticated among all experimental teaching centers in Fujian Province after constant reforms and constructions. It was approved to be school level center in March 2013 and provincial level in May 2013.

Experimental Teaching Center of Materials Science and Engineering occupies over 2407 square meters with the experiment teaching devices worth more than RMB 24 million. There are 27 members in the center, 70.4% of whom are doctors, 74% senior staff. They make a team who lay equal stress on research and teaching with meticulous scholarship, profound academic attainments and skillful engineering practice.

The center has built seven public experiment platforms, five teaching experiment platforms and quite a few practical teaching bases. A scientific experiment teaching system ranging from basic experiments, integrated design experiments, practical training to innovative experiments has been set up. Projects are to cultivate students’ engineering application capability and innovation in order to meet the need of talents in material industry and train talents to develop economy of West Coast and the science and technology of Fujian Province.
